Steve Neves is an associate art professor who teaches a variety of classes at Hardin-Simmons University, including sculpture, drawing, printmaking and design. He was awarded the Teaching Excellence Award from the Cynthia Ann Parker School of Liberal Arts in 2005. Neves received his B.F.A. from Stephen F. Austin State University in 2000 and his M.F.A. from the University of Houston in 2004. He serves on the Abilene Cultural Affairs Council’s Outdoor Sculpture Committee and has exhibited work in the biennial exhibition. He has sculpted eight of the Storybook Sculpture Project pieces commissioned by the ACAC located around downtown.
Geoff Broderick is an associate professor in Abilene Christian University’s Art & Design Department. He teaches sculpture, 3D design and basic drawing. He started sculpting as a student at ACU and later worked for Shidoni Art Foundry and Galleries in New Mexico. Broderick has cast seven of the sculptures commissioned by the Abilene Cultural Affairs Council for the Storybook Sculpture Project. He’s a member of the Texas Atomic Iron Commission and has exhibited his sculptures in Tokyo.
John Haupt is a lighting designer and master planner who worked for the Walt Disney Co. for 18 years. He was the lead lighting designer for entertainment at EPCOT, Disney Hollywood Studios, Tokyo Disneyland and Disneyland Paris. Haupt worked on the 1996 Olympic stadium design team in Atlanta. He is the principal and founder of J.R. Haupt & Associates, which provides lighting design, equipment and technical specifications and installation supervision to performing and architectural industries.
